Series in Advanced Political Economy

Welcome!

The aim of this collaborative programme is to create a global network discussing heterodox economic ideas and promoting alternatives to currently dominant policies. Our point of departure is the systemic failure of contemporary capitalism.

The objective of the series is to develop the theoretical understanding necessary for effective opposition to capitalism, backed by empirical studies. We believe that this objective requires a critical understanding of conservative politics and mainstream economics, and a deep appreciation of alternative approaches and ideas.

The lectures will cover various topics and issues salient to today’s society, including but not limited to internationalisation of production, inflation, gendered labour, austerity/neoliberalism, financialisation and climate crisis.

This is an advanced lecture series designed primarily for postgraduate level (taught & research) study. But access is free and we encourage activists, trade unionists, and those interested in alternative politics to attend.

When? Monday fortnightly 5-7PM (UK) / 12-2PM (NY)
